The workplace is often one of the few places where a survivor:

Can potentially escape the abuser's control

Because of this, many abusers intentionally interfere with employment.

Inclusive Domestic Violence Advocacy Training

It is important to tailor domestic violence (DV) training for LGBTQ+ survivors because their experiences, barriers to seeking help, and interactions with support systems can differ significantly from those of heterosexual and cisgender survivors.

A one-size-fits-all approach can unintentionally overlook forms of abuse, safety concerns, and service barriers that are more common within LGBTQ+ communities.
